Another rug, another lazy Sunday

Stop me if this sounds familiar, but part of my day today was spent lounging on a rug. I do enjoy the decorating taste of Michael and Beth...especially when said taste involves something soft for me to lay on.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

We got our first inkling of snow this weekend. I spent part of Sunday afternoon watching the neighbors shovel/dust their driveway.

Memory lane

Beth was cleaning off her camera's memory card and found this picture of me. I dare you to find a cuter or more flexible bulldog.

My new friend

There were a lot of people at the casa a couple of nights ago. Amos and I were excited about having so many new and interesting people to play with. I made a new friend. His name is Matt. And he likes to play tug as much as I do!

Hello again

Greetings, my faithful readers. I'm sorry to have kept you in the dark of late. I would also like to wish you a happy thanksgiving. We had a very nice holiday at the casa. My highlight was the new doormat. It's quite comfy.

Fun with photos

Well, it appears that Beth has discovered a new favorite app on her phone. The PS Mobile app - I'm told that's short for mobile photoshop. Here is a picture she took and made to look like Amos and I are being seen through night-vision goggles...night-vision goggles on security video footage, if that's possible. And here's one of me. All gray and blurry. Can you say artistic license?

Anything Amos can do...

...I can do better. And yes, that includes napping on the people couch.

Another ring

Beth brought home a new ring for Amos and me to enjoy. You'd think she'd learn from the last ring debacle...when Amos chewed through it and made it into a horseshoe.
I tried to borrow it, but Amos isn't very good at sharing. Can you tell from the picture?

Forced regurgitation: the beaglesworth chronicles

Well, Amos joined the forced regurgitation club the other day. And for a much grosser reason than I did. I'll spare you the photographic details, but he managed to ingest a mouse carcass. And regurgitate it shortly thereafter.

And what is going on here???

Could someone please explain to me what Amos is doing on the people couch??? He should know better!

Nothing new...nothing at all

I apologize, faithful readership, for my lack of blogging activity. No excuse, really. Just laziness on my part.

New toys!

Michael came home from work today with presents for Amos and me...new toys! A chewy bone...and a set of rings.Of note, the set of rings is now two rings and a horseshoe...Amos got a little carried away with the chewing.

Sleepy puppies

Sunday is a great day for naps. I took one.And Amos took one too.

Happy birthday to me!

Today is my 14th birthday. Happy birthday to me! I was hoping for a great gift. Like a new stick (because Amos chewed mine up and it had to be thrown away). Or a new ring (because Amos chewed mine up and it had to be thrown away). Michael said my gift was some antibiotics (I do enjoy the antibiotics...mostly because they are served with peanut butter) and some anti-itching spray (so I would leave my hot spots alone). I had to resort to shopping for myself. I found this gem in the empty lot across the street. A new tennis ball! I chewed on it for a while, but now I can't seem to find it anywhere. I wonder if Beth threw it away because she mistook it for trash....

R.I.P. pink ring

The pink ring is no more. It is now a pink horseshoe. And I saw Beth throw it in the trash. I blame Mr. Amos Q. Beaglesworth. He's a gnawing machine.

Itchy itchy scratchy scratchy

I've been very itchy lately. And very scratchy...mostly in response to the itchiness. Emily thinks it might be allergies. Because I'm almost 14 and that's when dog allergies start to appear. I hope that's not the case. I don't want to have to eat that bland seeing-eye dog food.
As for Amos, he could care less about my itchiness and scratchiness. He's more concerned with chewing on my stick.

Happy Labor Day!

I must apologize to my faithful readership...I haven't been keeping up with the blogging of late. There just haven't been any blog-able events. Amos continues to grow, much to my dismay - he's almost as big as I am! I hope this trend doesn't continue...I don't know what I'd do if my little brother turned out to be bigger than me.
I have noticed that Amos always seems to be in a good mood. His tail is always wagging......and sometimes it even looks like he's smiling.

Pedicures!

It was time for doggy pedicures last week. I like pedicures...I equate them with peanut butter. And how cute was it that Emily and Natalie were color coordinated!
Tuesday was a lonely day for me. Amos wasn't around to keep me company. I don't know where he went - he left with Beth that morning and she brought him home in the evening. I asked him where he went and he wouldn't tell me. He's back to his beagle self now, but was a little mopey Tuesday night.

The backyard phoenix

I thought I'd take a break from my usual dog blogging activities and blog about plants. Yes, plants. Actually, one particularly special plant named Rita. Rita is some kind of vine-y faux black-eyed Susan that was growing in our backyard. Rita went through some tough times recently (that can probably be traced back to Michael and Beth abandoning her for a week in mid-July), but now she's back! Like a phoenix rising from the ashes! Here's what Rita looks like now (yes, that's my beloved red bowling pin in the background):
And here are some pictures of Amos and me enjoying the backyard.

New friends and a new game

Amos and I got to experience a lot of new things this weekend. First, we met Quincy. Or, as I like to call him, Old Crazy Eyes. Then we learned about a new game. I believe it is called "cornhole." Or perhaps "bags" or "corn toss." It's a fun game. The bags get thrown onto (or near) a board. And then it was up to Amos and me to retrieve the bags. We recruited another retriever to our team. Her name is Ava. She was a lot of fun. She could carry a lot more bags than we could...probably has something to do with opposable thumbs and her ability to walk upright.

Monkey see, monkey do

Amos has taken to lounging on one of my doormats. I wouldn't mind it so much...if he would only fix his ear.

What a waste!

Amos and I tend to get excited when we hear the freezer door open. Why? Because an open freezer door translates to ice cubes for us.But today we didn't get any ice cubes. Why? Because the ice cubes had to be conserved for another purpose. What purpose? I'm not sure exactly. But this is what was happening in the sink.

I don't feel good :-(

I've had the sniffles ever since Michael and Beth returned from the great Kansas vacation of '09. Coincidence? I think not. Amos has been keeping me company. If only I could persuade him to bring me some chicken noodle soup. I think that would get me on the mend. But he keeps using the "I have no opposable thumbs...how am I supposed to use a can opener?" excuse. Ah well.

Wednesday, July 15, 2009

Shhh....

Don't tell Michael, but Amos was playing in the dishwasher again (the dishes were dirty...he's not allowed near the clean dishes). And instead of stopping him, Beth grabbed the camera.

Sharing is fun-damental

Amos and I have almost gnawed through the green ring. Imagine my delight when Beth brought home a new ring. And a pink ring at that. Luckily, Amos is good at sharing. And I'm getting to be better at sharing too....

Happy anniversary!

Michael and Beth celebrated their first wedding anniversary over the weekend. I don't understand these humans...part of the celebration involved eating year-old cake. Reportedly, the cake was delicious. But the longer it was exposed to room temperature, the more meltier it became. Regardless, happy anniversary!

Sync or swim

Amos and I have been practicing our synchronization. Our dream is to be the first canine team to compete in synchronized swimming at the Olympics. Our goal is the 2016 games. That gives us roughly 7 years to master the art of swimming...and the art of synchronization, for that matter.

I'm exhausted

I apologize for the lack of recent posts. I've been too tired to blog.
It's hard work having to play with Amos and keep him entertained. You probably can't tell from the looks of him, but Amos is like the Energizer bunny...he keeps going...and going...and going...
